Vanda are epiphytic orchids from the forests of East Asia and Oceania. They are distributed throughout Southeast Asia, China, the Himalayas, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, New Guinea and northern Australia. They are found at varying altitudes, so some can be grown in warm greenhouses and others in temperate greenhouses.

There are many Vanda hybrids. The most famous are the Vanda coerulea hybrids which offer impressive blooms due to their blueish color.
